Collins:
What is the background story to South Jersey B2B Professional Convention?
Mensah:
South Jersey B2B Professional Convention was inspired by the re-development of Camden – particularly the Waterfront. For the past several years a number of corporations have taken advantage of State Tax incentives to build their corporate center in Camden. Subaru, Holt International, American Water and Conner Strong & Buckelew; Michaels and NFI – just to mention a few. We designed South Jersey B2B Professional Convention as a platform to create connections for these corporations, small businesses and industry professionals across the City of Camden and the tri-state areas at large.
Collins:
What is the setting of this convention and when is the event?
Mensah:
We plan and organize this convention in business friendly venue. The idea is to bring several corporate senior level people, city representative and individuals with different cultural background and personality to a conducive environment where the focus and conversations can be purely business, positive and in search to add value to one another. This year event is slated for Friday March 26, 2021 from 8:00am-12:00noon at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, NJ
Collins:
What sets South Jersey B2B Professional Convention apart from any other business conference, gathering of the minds and even a pop-up event?
Mensah:
The take-away is to give attendees a piece of all that you mentioned; conference, gathering of the minds and pop-up opportunity to exhibit products and services. Our conversations are driven by our interest. Our interests often fall on the things we love to do as individuals and at the professional/business level. To some, this event presents the opportunity to acquaint self to the community as to engage the community for a search to optimize service delivery to the community. To another person, this is a platform of an opportunity for visibility to their small business ideas.
There is a great deal of effort put into the event; we have in store motivational, career development and business finance workshops. Original plan included Workshop on Drug Safety & Clinical Trials and Information Technology.
Collins:
From the end of this event to the next 10 years what would you consider as a hallmark to this event?
Mensah:
Quite often a small business owners’ desire for opportunity is like that of the microwave process – fast – today. I think we surely quickly come into realization that opportunities are engaged on the aback of relationships. I think South Jersey B2B Professional Convention is the gateway to relationships. Bridging talent to corporations, connecting small businesses to valued partners and product/service buyers; and last but not the least, achievement of our event would be reflected on by impact on creating long term relationships for communities across South Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Collins:
What can the public do in support to South Jersey B2B Professional Convention?
Mensah:
We have a great event planned with segments for everyone. To the corporate personnel who is seeking to engage the community as a talent search or simply community outreach. You are in to find a supplier for services that matters to your organization through our Match-making segment. We have a White Paper presentation opportunity for any business entity. Exhibition opportunity for apparels and accessories. We have a maximum capacity of 70 people for the venue and measures are in place for strong precautions on social distancing in adherence to the state of New Jersey. Masks must be worn at all time of the event. We invite those who can attend, and we look forward to serving and adding value to the community at large.
